Andy Murray dug deep to gain revenge on Kyle Edmund in Washington last night and record his first back-to-back wins of his comeback. The Scot lost to the British No.1 at Eastbourne in June before Murray decided to pull out of Wimbledon. But last night the Olympic champion survived a second-set fightback from the No.4 seed at the Citi Open before winning 7-6 1-6 6-4 in two hours and 32 minutes. It was the best performance by the former world No.1 since his January hip surgery. The world No.832 last won consecutive matches at Wimbledon last year and will now face Romanian Marius Copil. Edmund, who has been suffering from tonsilitis, visibly tired in the third set.
