Chipotle had so much fun giving free guacamole to their hordes of new digital subscribers yesterday, they’ve extended their promotion through today, Wednesday, August 1. No code necessary. Amid the whirlwind of festivities around National Avocado Day, you might have missed the news that Chipotle is offering free guacamole with purchases through their mobile app or website today. Select the guac as an add-on, side order, or with a standard order of chips and guacamole (unclear if the chips are free too—we’re guessing no). It’s a good deal if you routinely scoff at the $2ish Chipotle usually charges for guac (I could buy the ingredients and make it myself! you cry, but you so rarely actually do) or if you ambivalently pay for it (I work hard! I’m worth it!). The offer isn’t valid for orders made in-store, so before you feel too moved by Chipotle’s largesse, remember they’re making you create an online account in order to get the freebie. They give you guac, you give them your name, email address, phone number and zip code. Well, perhaps that’s all part of “being friends with the brand”. Oh, and of course guacamole is always free at Chipotle if you just forgo the meat.
