At least four people have been left injured following a huge explosion in the middle of a fireworks display. Buildings and homes were also damaged in the incident yesterday which was sparked after organisers left a box of fireworks in the church roof. Two people – a 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman – suffered burns and were rushed to hospital. Two others were treated at the scene for shock, reports El Universal . José Ramón Amieva, Mexico City’s head of government, indicated that there were damages in four homes in the area. Shocking footage shows the moment a massive fireball shot into the air in the Los Reyes Coyoacán sending people fleeing in several different directions. People can be heard screaming as they run from the scene as huge plumes of smoke billow into the sky. Fausto Lugo, secretary of Civil Protection of Mexico City, told Milenio Televisión the incident happened in Plazuela de Los Reyes and Calle de las Flores during during the celebrations of the Lord of Mercy in the parish.
