Paramount Plus is the subscription streaming-video service set to replace CBS All Access , costing $10 a month ad-free when it launches Thursday in the US and 18 Latin American countries. Paramount Plus will include live news and sports as well as on-demand shows and movies, including originals -- all of which leaning into parent company ViacomCBS ' brands like CBS , MTV , BET , Comedy Central , Nickelodeon and Paramount Network, plus movies from the Paramount Pictures studio. But Paramount Plus won't have the one show most associated with the Paramount name: Yellowstone . The first three seasons of the cowboy drama are streaming exclusively on rival service Peacock . Back in 2016, VR was suddenly a Big Thing. The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive promised immersive trips to other worlds on PCs. That same year, Sony released the PlayStation VR for the PS4, bringing reasonably priced virtual reality to a living room game console. Five years is a long time, but Sony has announced a follow-up to its VR hardware , designed from the ground up for the PlayStation 5 . You can play VR right now on a PS5 using the old PSVR and there are some great games to discover . But it's a hassle to connect the wires and find the controllers it works with (you need a DualShock 4, or a pair of weird PlayStation Move wands). A brand-new headset could be a big deal for opening immersive experiences for Sony's console. And, looking at the tech in VR (and the PS5 ) right now, it could get a lot better very fast. When the first Bravely Default launched in 2014 , it represented a return of sorts. Developer Square Enix made its name with classic turn-based roleplaying games like Final Fantasy , but those eventually gave way to bigger, more cinematic experiences. With Bravely Default , Square was going back to its roots. It may have technically been a new franchise, but the game was pure classic Final Fantasy -style adventuring. It even introduced a novel battle system to help it from retreading too much new ground. So where does that leave a sequel? Bravely Default II — technically the third game in the series, following 2016’s Bravely Second: End Layer — does all of the same things that made the original so interesting. But seven years later, it doesn’t have quite the same impact. Bravely Default II is solidly made, and the battle system is still a lot of fun to play around with. Nvidia wants you to replace your old GTX 1060 already for 1080p gaming. That's no surprise, considering that graphics processor has been around since 2016. The company hopes its AI-driven DLSS upscaling (for faster frame rates at a given resolution) will be more attractive in the new entry-level RTX 3060 than it ever did in the meh RTX 2060 line it replaces. It's not a bad bet; DLSS had severe performance drawbacks in the Turing generation of GPUs, but the 30-series' Ampere silicon makes it worth it on occasion. Unfortunately, it's not easy to buy a graphics card right now because of supply shortages. That will be especially true for the RTX 3060, which has an attractive starting price of $329 (£299, about AU$530). It begins shipping today, but good luck finding one in stock for a while.
