The first big Apple event of 2021 is here. Cupertino-based tech giant sent out media invites for its “Spring Loaded” event that will take place on April 20. Like all of the Apple events of 2021, this one too will be an online-only affair. What to expect from the April 20 event Apple hasn’t made any comment on what it will announce at the event but rumour mills have been working in overdrive. It is expected that Apple will refresh its iPad Pro line up with a new model. It has been speculated that the iPad will come an all-new processor. Also, it has been suggested that for the first time Apple will bring mini-LED display tech to the iPad. NEW DELHI: South Korean tech LG recently announced its exit from the smartphone business. The company confirmed that it will completely shut down the business by July this year. However, despite exiting the business, LG confirmed that it will continue to offer software updates for some of its devices. The company has now revealed the list of LG smartphones that will receive Android 12 and Android 13 . Along with this, the company has also listed the roadmap for Android 11 update. The list of LG smartphones which will receive Android 12 and Android 13 updates include LG Wing , LG Velvet , LG V50S, LG V50, LG G8, LG Q31, LG Q52 and LG Q92. On the other hand, the company confirmed that LG Velvet will get Android 11 update this month, while LG G8X will get the update in Q3 2021. U.S. President Joe Biden met with executives from major companies on Monday to discuss the global chip shortage that has hit automakers and spurred Intel Corp to announce it plans to make chips for car plants at its factories in the next six to nine months. During the meeting, Biden said he had bipartisan support for legislation to fund the semiconductor industry. He previously announced plans to invest $50 billion in semiconductor manufacturing and research as part of his drive to rebuild U.S. manufacturing under a $2 trillion infrastructure plan. The global chip shortage stems from a confluence of factors as carmakers, which shut plants during the COVID-19 pandemic last year, compete against the sprawling consumer electronics industry for chip supplies.
