Peloton debuted its Bike Plus with a much-desired feature: GymKit support. But now, the company’s pulling back some of that functionality. A Peloton spokesperson confirmed to The Verge today that GymKit no longer works with Bike Bootcamp classes and instead will “only be available in cycling classes for now.” The spokesperson also said: “Peloton is committed to bringing the GymKit integration to all workouts and disciplines within Apple’s terms of service,” seemingly suggesting bootcamp workouts didn’t fall under those terms. This change is a disruptive one for users who might have purchased the Bike Plus specifically for its GymKit support. It’s the first piece of hardware from the connected fitness company to support GymKit, and the direct Apple Watch integration makes tracking workouts easy, especially during Bike Bootcamp, which fuses cycling and strength exercises. Coffee shop owners face backlash after “pick-up artist” podcast exposed
Over the weekend, the founders of a coffee shop in West Asheville, North Carolina, found themselves caught up in a local uproar after their secret Internet identities, as hosts of a "pick-up artist" podcast and associated Twitter and blog accounts, had been exposed. The duo, Jared Rutledge and Jacob Owens, eventually posted lengthy public apologies on Saturday confirming their involvement in the now-offline "Holistic Game" podcast. The original Friday report on the story , from local events site AshevilleBlog, cited a Facebook post (which was not linked) connecting the founders of Waking Life Espresso to the podcast, and it included archived links to the duo's audio and Twitter account , including copies of a few podcast MP3s. During today’s Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom announced that a second demo for its upcoming survival horror game, Resident Evil Village, will release on May 1st. That’s six days before the game’s official release date. Unlike the previous “Maiden” demo, this demo will be playable on all platforms the game will releases on, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Windows PC (via Steam), and Stadia. The demo will allow you to play for 60 minutes and explore both the village and castle areas, regardless of the platform. PS4 and PS5 users will have the option to preload the demo beginning today via the PlayStation Store. Additionally, players on these two platforms will receive early access to the demo on two separate weekends — April 17th at 5PM ET through April 18th at 4AM ET, and April 24th at 5PM ET through April 25th at 4AM ET.
