Asgaard's trickster and Thor's brother Loki might look invincible on screen, but in real life, actor Tom Hiddleston might need help from one of the Infinity Stones to do stunts like a superhero. Work officially began on the upcoming Disney Plus series Loki in December, and on Monday, Hiddleston posted a behind-the-scenes video on his Instagram to show fans how his training is going. In the video, he takes a huge leap while suspended by cables and lands like a superhero, then falls flat on his face. Ouch. "Prep is going really well. #Loki," Hiddleston jokes on his Instagram . Hiddleston uses his Instagram to give Marvel fans updates on the new Loki series. Back in December, Hiddleston posted an image of himself sitting next to the Loki crew with the caption "Team Loki. Prep has officially begun! See you in the New Year," tagging director and writer Kate Herron and creative producer Kevin R. Wright . Loki will launch on Disney Plus in the spring of … [Read more...] about Tom Hiddleston falls on his face in training vid for Marvel’s Loki show on Disney Plus

California can enforce net neutrality law, judge rules in loss for ISPs
California can start enforcing the net neutrality law it enacted over two years ago, a federal judge ruled yesterday in a loss for Internet service providers. Broadband-industry lobby groups' motion for a preliminary injunction was denied by Judge John Mendez of US District Court for the Eastern District of California. Mendez did not issue a written order but announced his ruling at a hearing, and his denial of the ISPs' motion was noted in the docket . Mendez reportedly was not swayed by ISPs' claims that a net neutrality law isn't necessary because they haven't been blocking or throttling Internet traffic. "I have heard that argument and I don't find it persuasive," Mendez said, according to The Hollywood Reporter . "It's going to fall on deaf ears. Everyone has been on their best behavior since 2018, waiting for whatever happened in the DC Circuit [court case over the FCC's repeal of net neutrality]. I don't place weight on the argument that everything is fine and we don't … [Read more...] about California can enforce net neutrality law, judge rules in loss for ISPs
Vaporware alert: VMware claims it will enable dual-persona iPhones
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA—Back in 2010, VMware unveiled one of its most ambitious projects for joining the worlds of consumer and business technology: virtualization for smartphones . Unfortunately, it never came to be. By 2011, VMware said, there would be hardware partners selling virtualized smartphones, using a hypervisor to run a guest operating system that isolates work applications and data from personal ones. As release dates got pushed into the future and became less specific, it took on the feel of a classic vaporware project. But VMware is not giving up. On Tuesday at the annual VMworld conference, VMware said the Android project—called Horizon Mobile —is still alive, and moreover that it will be adapted to the iPhone . “It’s alive and well. We have some great announcements coming up relatively soon,” CTO Steve Herrod said on the keynote stage, right before lodging a dig at VMware rival Microsoft. “When I talk to customers, they say, 'That’s a great solution for … [Read more...] about Vaporware alert: VMware claims it will enable dual-persona iPhones
